Relaxation, clarity, and mindfulness are constant companions that can simplify our lives many times over. In this article, you will find tips on how to bring more of these positive aspects into your life.
You don’t need expensive gadgets – all you need for a clearer mind is yourself.
The power in silence for a clearer mind
Our day usually begins with noise.
The alarm clock ends the night and rings in a new day.
Whether at home, at work, in the supermarket, or anywhere else. We rarely find a quiet place to linger, but we often don’t specifically look for it either, because we no longer notice it. We are exposed to noise everywhere.
The radio showering you with ads and news in the car – here’s a little tip – replace the radio with a podcast that interests you and helps you move forward, or use the silence right then and there.
You will be amazed at the thoughts that unfold within you if you give them space.
Silence creates space for thoughts
Thoughts create an opportunity to achieve clarity.
Thinking of nothing is an art that very few people have mastered.
Even a short period of silence can bring about inner peace.
If you feel overwhelmed and you are looking for calmness, give this method a try:
Whenever you feel overwhelmed, focus on one single thing.
Notice how breathing in feels.
Notice how the floor underneath your feet feels while walking.
Do a single task, with absolute focus on it. For instance, prep yourself a delicious meal, chop vegetables or do the dishes, but do it with an absolute focus on the task. This will most likely calm you down instantly.
Something new for a fresh momentum
We know the feeling – you find something new. Something that excites you.
A new sport, a new partner, a new hobby.
Whatever it may be, it awakens energy and makes us shine.
Don’t misunderstand, please don’t throw everything overboard now, go shopping, and exchange partners.
However, there is no harm in trying something new.
It would be easy to take a new route to work/school/university. It might take longer, but it may be more interesting, give you a new perspective, invite you to explore.
Trying a new sport and maybe even sticking with it will also give you a new spark in life.
Create a challenge for yourself, but don’t let it put you under pressure.
Focus on having fun.
Especially if you’re more of a competitive type, it’s a good idea to get some input outside of sports. Try a simple walk, an evening at the theatre or maybe a beginner’s course in a language you are not familiar with.
Get creative and enjoy exploring!
A clear mind through writing/journaling
A daily journal helps to create clarity.
You can use it to set daily goals.
Focus on things you are grateful for.
Write down affirmations to make them more powerful.
Write down a few keywords or phrases every day.
You could start out by using the below phrases:
I am grateful for…
– A new opportunity to smile throughout the whole day.
– The warm coffee that is steaming in front of me right now.
– I`m grateful that my daughter is about to jump into the living room like a whirlwind.
– I am grateful for warm running water, electricity in my flat, my car …
The goal of the day/What would make today a great day…
– Today I want to face every situation positively. Free from judgment. Good, bad? Doesn’t matter. It just is.
Affirmation…
- Everything is easy.
- My mind is clear.
- I am doing well.
- I am full of energy.
- My life is already so wonderful. Can it get any better?
The journal helps to see the good things in life and to keep your goals in mind.
